It’s Never Too Late to Improve Your Pet’s Health (part 2 of 2)

Veterinarian in Eaton Rapids, MI US

Welcome to Snow Animal Health Care where we believe the pets of our community all deserve the best in medical care. As your veterinarian located in Eaton Rapids, we’re proud to serve your pet with quality medical care that you can rely on. We provide services for pets of all ages, from the youngest kitten to the oldest dog. Whether your pet is in need of standard medical care or emergency treatment, we’re here to help. Our services run the gamut, so your pet will be covered no matter what stage of life he or she is currently experiencing.

Wellness exams are critical for young, middle aged and senior pets. Pets continue to need booster shots throughout adulthood to maintain immunity to common illnesses and deadly diseases. We track each pet’s vaccination schedule, so pet owners always know when it’s time to get the next shot. Just like people, pets need to have their teeth cleaned, their cavities filled and their dental disease treated. We use diagnostic tools like ultrasound images and our in-house lab to diagnose your pet’s condition accurately.

We welcome all pets in the Eaton Rapids, Mason, Charlotte and surrounding areas to visit us for treatment from a quality and caring veterinary staff. Whether your pet needs a checkup, dental care or other service, we encourage you to call Snow Animal Health, your Eaton Rapids veterinarians, and make an appointment today.

Spay/Neuter Your Pet

Spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from these diseases. Lack of exercise and overfeeding will cause your pet to pack on the extra pounds-not neutering. Your pet will remain fit and trim as long as you continue to provide exercise and monitor her food intake. Although neutering your pet often reduces undesirable behaviors caused by a higher level of testosterone, there’s no guarantee that your dog’s behavior will change after he’s neutered. When to Spay or Neuter Your Pet.For dogs: While the traditional age for neutering is six to nine months, puppies as young as eight weeks old can be neutered as long as they’re healthy.

Talk to your veterinarian to determine the best time to spay or neuter your pet. Although your pet may experience some discomfort after surgery, your veterinarian can take various measures to control pain. Depending on the procedure performed, medication for pain may be sent home with your pet. Provide your pet with a quiet place to recover indoors and away from other animals. Prevent your pet from running and jumping for up to two weeks following surgery, or as long as your veterinarian recommends.

Prevent your pet from licking the incision site, which may cause infection, by distracting your pet with treats or by using an Elizabethan collar. Avoid bathing your pet for at least ten days after surgery.

Veterinary Clinic in Brunswick, ME

We offer comprehensive pet care for small mammals, exotics, dogs, and cats, as well as providing avian services. Discover the many benefits of going to The Veterinary Clinic for all of your pets’ needs. Give your pet the best outlook on a long and healthy life with annual pet exams at The Veterinary Clinic. While pet dental care is an important part of pet health care, it is unfortunately overlooked by most pet owners. Your pet can suffer from irreversible conditions including tooth and gum loss, as well as damage to the heart and kidney failure caused by bacteria from the mouth entering the pet’s bloodstream.

To prevent dental disease and oral conditions we recommend having your pet’s mouth checked during their wellness exam. Another important type of preventative care is microchipping for pets. To protect your pet from getting lost or stolen, we offer microchipping. If your pet has been in an accident, has tumors, or is suffering from an illness that requires surgery, we offer full-service surgery. Your Brunswick veterinarian has an underwater treadmill, balance boards, and more tools to help with pet physical rehabilitation.

In addition to physical rehabilitation and pet surgery, we offer dental and micro-chipping. Our veterinarians Drs. Horgan, Wood, Cowan, and Parthum are available to improve your pet’s health and well-being.

Pet Health Certificates

If you are considering traveling with your pet, whether it be within the United States or abroad, it is important to be aware of each state and country’s rules and regulations for importation or movement of pets. In the United States, the interstate movement of animals requires a pet health certificate. Many countries and airlines require an official health certificate performed by a USDA accredited veterinarian. You should contact your veterinarian directly to find out if he/she is accredited. The process of obtaining the necessary testing or examinations can take days to weeks, so you should plan well in advance to be sure all paperwork is complete prior to your travels. To find out more information about individual state and country regulations, airline requirements and fees please go the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services website by clicking here. If you wish to find out more information about the state of California’s requirements, please click the following link.

Fresh to Frozen Pet Food

Healthy Paws was inspired by the principles of the “Biologically appropriate diet” created by the renowned veterinarian, Dr. Ian Billinghurst. He observed the health benefits for dogs and cats fed a diet of food in its natural state verses a diet of cooked or processed foods containing additives and supplements. At Healthy Paws, we continually refine this concept through collaboration with our consumers, retailers and trained pet nutritionists. We also offer a variety of simple minced proteins, bones, and natural dietary supplements. Healthy Paws is a family owned Canadian company that offers “Fresh-to-frozen” products that capture food’s nutrients in their richest state. We are dedicated to providing high quality nutrition through the use of human-grade ingredients that are preservative and additive free. We have developed a variety of raw food products to help your pet achieve a balanced diet from natural sources and we’ve made it easy to serve with our portion sizes and re-sealable packaging.

Dog Health Products and Supplies

Delivered quickly, and they made my turtle very happy. 10 out of 10That Pet Place has a wide variety of items for all of my exotic pets- I don’t need to go to different stores to find what I want for each of my pets. 9 out of 10I ordered from TFP years ago, the last time I had an aquarium. When I decided to go for wet pets again, TFP is one of the first sites I visited. Price and selection beat anything I can find locally-by far. 9 out of 10 for a first time customer, I was favorably impressed with the way my order was handled. The products are being used now, and I do like what I’m seeing in my dogs because of them! -onehandygal. 10 out of 10Customer support contacted ME regarding my availability to receive the package; not wanting the live plants to sit unattended. I will always “Go to” That Fish Place, That Pet Place for my pond plants. Kim c. 10 out of 10Since moving from the east coast to the west coast 13 years ago, That Fish Place has always been my go to place for my aquarist needs.
